On June 24th, Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire replied to netizens on X that the pipeline that intelligently connects all digital wallets around the world will be public blockchains and stablecoins, which will unlock highly commoditized global and retail payments. This was before people started doing some cool things with smart contracts between all these wallets.
This makes me optimistic that one of the many emerging Web3 wallets will explode and become global in scale, as they will provide 10 to 100 times more utility through an open ecosystem connected to a programmable smart contract infrastructure than through payment functionality alone.
