Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse recently clarified a recent court ruling in a lawsuit against Ripple Securities. U.S. District Judge Phyllis J. Hamilton for the Northern District of California issued summary judgments on federal and state class claims, but declined summary judgments on individual claims under California law.
In response, Garlinghouse further clarified: "There are many misleading and some factually inaccurate headlines describing the decision made yesterday by the California judge in the class action lawsuit regarding XRP. It is accurate to say that this is a huge win.... there is absolutely no decision to negate or alter the fact that XRP itself is not a security (as per the New York court decision)." He emphasized that "all class actions in the lawsuit were dismissed" and stated that the California court's "decision dismisses all allegations that Ripple's sale of XRP violates federal securities laws".
