Nigeria's SEC Announces New Rules and Compliance Program for Digital Assets

The Nigerian SEC has amended its rules on digital asset offerings, issuance platforms, exchanges and custody. In an official notice released to the public, the SEC has outlined its plans to update these important regulations. As part of this regulatory overhaul, the US SEC has introduced a special compliance program called the Accelerated Regulatory Incubation Program (ARIP). The program is designed specifically for virtual asset service providers (VASPs), which should complete the application within 30 days from the date of the circular.
