Notice of the General Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs on Stabilizing the Production and Development of Beef Cattle

On June 21, the General Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs issued a notice on stabilizing the production and development of beef cattle. Since the beginning of this year, the prices of live cattle and beef have continued to decline, and the farmers have generally lost money, and the pressure on production and operation has increased. In order to stabilize the basic production capacity of beef cattle and help farmers tide over the difficulties, all localities should organize and implement policies and projects such as basic cow herd expansion and quality improvement, grain reform and feeding, animal husbandry subsidies in pastoral areas, grassland ecological protection subsidies, and grassland animal husbandry transformation and upgrading; all localities should develop artificial grass according to local conditions, fully tap the potential of land resources such as cultivated land, saline-alkali land, beaches, grassy slopes, abandoned land, and agricultural and idle fields, and increase the supply of forage for beef cattle breeding.
