The Central Bank of Iran has officially announced the launch of a pilot program for the Central Bank of Iran Digital Currency (CBDC) digital rial. As part of the pilot, the Iranian digital currency will be open to bank customers and tourists on Kish Island. The pilot program will be launched on June 21, the first day of the Islamic month of Tyre.
