Base developer @wbnns said that the Base team will be increasing the gas target per block from 7.5Mgas/sec to 8.125Mgas/sec as part of our ongoing efforts to scale up to make Base as fast, cheap and easy to use as possible for people around the world. For most users, no changes need to be made, but if you run a Base node and notice that it falls behind as network activity increases:
1. Monitor CPU and disk I/O usage.
2. Enhance disk throughput and use disks with lower read/write latency (NVMe SSD is recommended).
3. Improve the CPU and focus on core solo speed.
