On June 18, BNB Chain announced that it will launch BEP-336, inspired by Ethereum's EIP-4844. It is designed to optimize data storage and processing on the blockchain and significantly reduce transaction costs (up to 90%).
BEP 336 will be officially launched via the Haber hard fork, which is expected to take place on June 20, 2023. BEP 336 introduces Blob-Carrying Transactions (BlobTx), a concept designed to streamline the transaction verification process for the network.
Blob is a temporary and cost-effective memory segment capable of capturing large data blocks up to 128 KB each. The network does not need to validate each transaction within a block individually, just validate the data within the attached blob.
