A report released by Immunefi shows that as of now, the cryptocurrency industry lost $336.3 million in the first quarter due to hacking and fraud. DeFi remains the main target of hackers, accounting for 100% of the vulnerabilities discovered by Immunefi in the first quarter, while vulnerabilities on centralized platforms are zero. Most of the losses were caused by only two projects, Orbit Bridge's $81.7 million and Munchables's $62 million. However, the number of attacks decreased from 74 in the first quarter of 2023 to 61 in the first quarter of this year, a month on month decrease of 17.6%. Compared to a loss of $437.5 million in the same period last year, the record loss of $336.3 million decreased by 23.1% month on month.
