DFI Retail Swings To $118 Million Interim Profit

DFI Retail Group, which operates Wellcome and Mannings in Hong Kong and is part of Jardine Matheson, reported interim profit of $118 million for the six months ended June 30, compared with a loss of $37.6 million a year earlier. Earnings per share were 8.76 cents, according to Ming Pao.

The company said the result was driven mainly by strong performance in its health and beauty business, as well as a recovery in its convenience store and home furnishings businesses.
