According to the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, a spokesman for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters of Iran's armed forces said ships belonging to any country or company that accepts the United States' use of Iranian assets for so-called compensation will not be allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. He said U.S. President Donald Trump had previously announced plans to use frozen Iranian assets to compensate ships damaged during the Iran-U.S. conflict. The spokesman also said the damaged ships were the result of U.S. forces creating regional insecurity and of entering an illegal and unsafe route in the southern Strait of Hormuz. He warned that, effective immediately, ships belonging to any country or company that supports Trump's proposal and the use of frozen Iranian assets will be banned from passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
