Myanmar’s parliament passed a law on Tuesday allowing the death penalty for people who use violence or unlawful detention to force others into online scam operations. According to ChainCatcher, the law also allows life imprisonment for operators of online scam compounds or those involved in digital currency scams, while offenders who use violence or illegal detention can face prison terms from 10 years to life.
