South Africa’s National Treasury approved the release of 7.1 billion rand ($423 million) in previously withheld municipal allocations, Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana said. Bloomberg reported that the treasury will not hesitate to withhold funding again from municipalities that fail to improve financial management.
