Galaxy has acquired about 500 acres of land in McGregor, Texas, under a development agreement with the city of McGregor, Texas, to build and operate an AI and high-performance computing data center park in the McGregor Industrial Park. According to Foresight News, the company is advancing the power infrastructure needed for the site and has reached a preliminary agreement with a utility to support the interconnection facilities required for construction.
The first phase of development is expected to have an installed capacity of 74 megawatts. Galaxy plans to work with the utility to support the project beyond ERCOT's 75-megawatt large-load threshold. The company currently expects the first phase of the park to begin receiving power in 2028, with operations to expand gradually afterward depending on the completion of development milestones.
Galaxy said the McGregor site could grow into a park with hundreds of megawatts of installed capacity before 2030 as the utility builds and upgrades transmission infrastructure.
