According to CNBC, the National Republican Congressional Committee on Tuesday launched a digital advertising campaign targeting vulnerable House Democrats and Democratic candidates in competitive districts over their opposition to President Donald Trump's tariffs on China and other countries. The ads will run on social media in 15 districts across California, Maine, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, Ohio and Pennsylvania, and the NRCC said it was a "modest ad buy" but did not disclose how much it spent. NRCC spokesperson Mike Marinella said House Democrats had a choice between American workers and Communist China, and the ads are meant to link opposition to the tariffs with support for China. The campaign comes as Trump has reimposed new import duties on dozens of countries and the European Union, and after the White House on Friday announced new tariffs on 60 trade partners, including China, with duties set between 10% and 12.5%.
