Jinpu Titanium Industry Co. said its wholly owned subsidiary Xuzhou TiBai Chemical has fully suspended production since July 15 after an on-site inspection by the Xuzhou Ecology and Environment Bureau found fluoride in wastewater discharged from the plant exceeded limits. The company said the shutdown was a voluntary rectification measure to eliminate environmental risks, according to Jiemian News.
The subsidiary had originally planned to halt production for 15 to 20 days under an arrangement with business partner Zhongyan Chuangxing, but the resumption date is now uncertain because the remediation work is behind schedule. Jinpu Titanium said it has not yet received any written administrative penalty notice, and that the length of the shutdown and the impact on its 2026 operations remain unclear, depending on the technical difficulty of the fixes and the regulator's acceptance process.
