South Korea, Brazil Space Agencies Sign MOU To Expand Cooperation

According to Yonhap, South Korea and Brazil signed a memorandum of understanding to broaden cooperation between their space agencies, according to the Korea Aerospace Administration (KASA). The agreement on the peaceful use of space follows the South Korea-Brazil summit in Seoul in February and is KASA's first with a Latin American country. The two sides plan to work together on launch authorization regulations, space industry development and satellite information sharing. Brazil is viewed as an important player in space transportation because it operates the Alcantara Space Center, the launch site closest to the equator. South Korean startup Innospace, which develops hybrid space rockets, has used Alcantara as its main launch site. The agreement came alongside President Lee Jae Myung's meeting with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, their second bilateral summit this year after February's meeting in Seoul.
