Natixis Investment Management global market strategist Mabrouk Chetouane said U.S. Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh is unlikely to challenge the current consensus at his second monetary policy committee meeting. According to ChainCatcher, Chetouane said Warsh is unlikely to be tempted by a 25-basis-point rate hike, even though returning inflation to target by year-end now appears nearly impossible.
Analysts broadly expect the Federal Reserve to hold rates steady on Wednesday, but money markets are pricing in a 38% chance of a rate increase.
