Solana Optimistic Network said its investigation and recovery work for a security incident discovered on July 12 has been completed, with no vulnerabilities found in the SOON protocol, sequencer, or user-facing smart contracts. According to ChainCatcher, the incident did not involve any loss of user funds.
The project said the issue originated from a security problem in its off-chain operational environment. A third-party security firm, BlockSec, found that an external attacker gained unauthorized access through a misconfigured service and later entered parts of the internal environment because of insufficient access controls.
SOON said the impact was limited to certain operational infrastructure and related processes, and did not affect on-chain user assets, user smart contracts, or the security of the SOON network. After the incident, SOON suspended the sequencer and some services and launched a full security review.
During the review, NFT minting, token claims, and on-chain withdrawals were temporarily disabled. SOON has now restored NFT minting and token claim functions, as well as mainnet RPC services and block production, and said the network has returned to normal operation.
