AI robotics company Enigma has raised a $71 million seed round led by Index Ventures and Ribbit Capital, with participation from Conviction Partners and individual investors from OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepMind, xAI, Cognition, and Wiz. According to ChainCatcher, the company said the funding will be used to expand its research and engineering teams, improve compute infrastructure, and increase real-world deployments.

Enigma was founded 11 months ago and said the round is one of the largest seed financings in physical AI. The company said it has developed more than 100 in-house robot systems and operates in California and Israel, while also opening remote interaction to collect training data. It added that it sees human-machine interaction as the main barrier to broader robot adoption and that its platform uses a hardware-agnostic approach designed to work across different manufacturers' robots.
