Pupils in England will be able to study technical subjects such as manufacturing and AI from age 14 under new government education plans, with courses from Year 10 linked to local jobs and industries, according to BBC. The government said the changes would let students combine core academic subjects including English and maths with technical education, skills training, work experience and employer links. BBC reported that the new pathways are expected to be up and running in some areas by 2028. The plans come after official data earlier this year showed more than one million young people across the UK were not in education, employment or training, while ONS figures showed 13.5% of UK 16 to 24-year-olds were Neet at the start of this year.
