Samsung Electronics, SK Group Chiefs Set To Attend Google Camp In Sicily

According to Yonhap, Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong and SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won are set to visit Google Camp on the Italian island of Sicily later this month, according to industry sources. The invitation-only summer gathering is hosted by Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin and draws technology executives, business leaders and public figures from around the world. Industry observers said Lee and Chey are expected to use the event to deepen ties with Google and other global technology leaders while discussing business issues. The planned trip follows a high-level meeting in San Francisco last week that brought together heads of major South Korean conglomerates and global technology companies. At that meeting, South Korean conglomerates and global tech firms, including Nvidia Corp., agreed to pursue cooperation projects worth a combined US$950 billion.
