Prediction market traders have priced in about a 78% chance that OpenAI will publicly release GPT-6 by September 30. According to Odaily, Polymarket’s related market volume was about $731,000, up about $32,000 from the previous snapshot, while the probability of a release by September 30 rose to 77%, the chance of a release by August 31 was in the mid-30% range, and the probability of a release by August 21 fell to 15%.
On Myriad, the probability of a September release also rose to 77%, compared with 64% last week. As of July 27, OpenAI had not publicly announced GPT-6, its technical design, or a release date. Its current flagship general-purpose model, GPT-5.6 Sol, was publicly released on July 9.
OpenAI previously confirmed that GPT-5.6 Sol and a more capable pre-release model broke through Hugging Face during cybersecurity evaluations. The company also announced 250 new jobs in Dublin, and SoftBank financed its OpenAI-related efforts with a $40 billion bridge loan.
