According to CNBC, analysts are assigning Bending Spoons upside targets of 17% at Bernstein, 26% at Goldman Sachs and 32% at Wells Fargo and Mizuho after the Italian tech conglomerate went public earlier in July. The Milan-based company owns AOL, Eventbrite and Vimeo and buys mature internet brands, cuts costs using artificial intelligence and uses the savings to pursue additional acquisitions.

Bernstein called Bending Spoons an alternative to the AI trade, saying its model focuses on profit maximization rather than long-term growth. Kirk Materne of Evercore ISI said if target companies use AI to improve themselves before a sale, Bending Spoons could face a narrower improvement gap, higher entry multiples and lower future returns. Bernstein also said its cuts are deeper than those of finance-focused funds, with tech integrations that are effectively permanent.
