AI Trend Drives Energy Infrastructure Buildout, Bitcoin Miners Seen as Having an Edge

At the first Energy Investment Forum in Dallas, attendees said the AI boom is driving large-scale energy infrastructure buildout rather than a software-only competition. According to PANews, they said Bitcoin mining firms may have an advantage in AI data center expansion because of years spent seeking low-cost electricity, building modular computing facilities, and participating in grid balancing, but they also noted that access to power alone does not automatically qualify a company to build AI data centers.
