According to CNBC, Cracker Barrel said Chief Executive Julie Masino will step down next month and stay with the company in an advisory role until Oct. 9. David Deno, former CEO of Bloomin' Brands and a former executive at Best Buy and Yum Brands, will succeed her as CEO on Aug. 10. The move comes nearly a year after Cracker Barrel's attempt to modernize its brand and stores, including a planned simplified logo, triggered customer backlash and led the company to reverse course. Cracker Barrel said the chain has 660 restaurants in 43 states, and same-store sales fell 1.8% in its fiscal third quarter ended May 1. Shares dropped 4% in morning trading Monday.
