According to CNBC, NBCUniversal's Peacock streaming service will be included in YouTube Premium subscriptions in the U.S. starting early next year, bringing NBC Sports content, Universal films such as the Minions franchise, and original Peacock and Bravo programming including The Real Housewives and Love Island USA onto YouTube. The partnership was formed after Comcast co-CEO Brian Roberts contacted YouTube CEO Neal Mohan about nine months ago, and follows a meeting between the companies' executive teams at Google offices. It also extends NBCUniversal's multiyear distribution agreement with YouTube TV and adds distribution of YouTube, YouTube TV and Premium on Comcast's Xfinity and Xumo platforms. NBCUniversal said Peacock had 48 million paying subscribers as of June 30 and turned profitable for the first time in the latest quarter, while Comcast co-CEO Mike Cavanagh said he expects the service to remain profitable on an annual basis despite quarterly swings.
