Goldman Sachs is bullish on the South Korean won, Taiwan dollar and Malaysian ringgit, saying Asia’s AI investment boom is reshaping foreign exchange markets. The bank expects those currencies to outperform energy importers such as the Thai baht and Indonesian rupiah, according to BeInCrypto, as chip exporters benefit and oil buyers lag.

Goldman sees South Korea’s current account surplus nearly doubling to roughly $300 billion this year, while Taiwan’s surplus could reach 25% of GDP. It also cites resilient AI-led growth, strong exports and foreign direct investment as support for the ringgit.
