According to CNBC, Paramount Skydance agreed on Friday to delay its proposed acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery amid legal challenges, and the transaction could now be pushed as late as June 2027. Paramount had previously expected to complete the deal by the end of September, but last week said it would either wait until June 1, 2027 or until a court rules on a lawsuit filed by a group of state attorneys general, whichever comes first. If the closing is delayed until next June, Paramount will owe Warner Bros. Discovery a ticking fee of 25 cents per share, per quarter starting Sept. 30, which could total about $1.7 billion.
