According to CNBC, Ford Motor is expanding its accessories and parts business to lift profits and better tap the $53 billion U.S. aftermarket industry. The company plans to broaden aftermarket offerings, including exterior detailing, vehicle wraps, performance parts and systems, while increasing special-edition vehicle launches through Ford Custom Garage.
Ford said it will produce 1,000 limited-edition Bronco models with the Desert Rising package as part of the Ford Custom Garage Bronco Horizon Series. The package adds $13,695 to the vehicle and lifts the price to $57,350. Ford also said some Mustang performance packages run as high as $16,000 to $18,000, while a special performance version of the F-150 pickup truck can cost nearly $27,000.
Matt Simpson, Ford Customization's executive director, said the company is increasing investment in the business and views it as a growth driver. He said Ford is targeting 8% annual growth in its $15 billion high-margin software and physical services revenue, which includes customization, through the end of this decade. Ford said 46% of its new vehicle buyers in the U.S. customize their vehicles in some way, with Bronco buyers leading the way, followed by Mustang and pickup truck customers. The Specialty Equipment Market Association said U.S. consumers spent $52.9 billion on vehicle accessories and modifications in 2025.
