Privacy computing protocol Zama said its open-source fully homomorphic encryption library TFHE-rs v1.7 reached 1,080 transactions per second on a single node with eight NVIDIA H100 GPUs in the ERC-7984 privacy transfer benchmark. According to Foresight News, this is about 2.7 times higher than the previous version's 400 transactions per second, while latency remained at 50.9 milliseconds.
Zama said the performance target in its earlier roadmap was achieved more than a year ahead of schedule. The company added that the main bottleneck for private transfers is no longer encryption computation, but the underlying blockchain consensus and block production speed.
ERC-7984 is the privacy version of ERC-20 and supports token transfers with balances and transfer amounts encrypted throughout the process.
