Aave founder Stani said on X that the industry needs broad consensus and maximum effort to help the U.S. CLARITY Act pass. According to ChainCatcher, he said the bill is not perfect and will still require regulators to set many details, but it would be the first piece of legislation to address DeFi and could provide institutions, fintech firms, and banks with a clearer legal framework and regulatory certainty for on-chain finance.
He added that if the bill is enacted, its impact on the on-chain finance ecosystem could resemble the opportunities the GENIUS Act created for the stablecoin sector, potentially attracting more investment and institutional capital into the on-chain space. Stani said the Aave team has spent the past year, especially the last several weeks and days, in Washington, D.C., speaking with policymakers and is now in the final stage of pushing the bill forward.
