Korean retail investors have net-bought 69.5 trillion won of ETFs so far in 2026, accounting for 63.2% of the 109.9 trillion won in net buying in the KOSPI market. According to Odaily, retail investors continued using ETFs to invest despite a recent correction in the Korean stock market.
Net ETF purchases totaled 33 trillion won in the first quarter and 28.9 trillion won in the second quarter, with more than 1 trillion won added in the third quarter so far this month. Over the past month from June 23 to July 23, covered call and monthly dividend ETFs drew about 2 trillion won in net retail inflows, while semiconductor, space technology and AI-related growth ETFs saw net outflows.
