Russia's largest bank, Sberbank, plans to launch crypto trading infrastructure and digital custody services by December 1 to support the regulated financial system. According to Odaily, Russia's new rules for crypto trading, custody and settlement will take effect on September 1, and requirements for licensed intermediaries will apply from July 2027.
Public crypto trading in Russia will be limited to assets that meet strict liquidity and market capitalization thresholds, while payments for domestic goods and services with crypto assets will remain banned.
