Syrian Bus Crash Kills 35, Injures 30 on Deir al-Zor-Damascus Highway

According to Lianhe Zaobao citing Reuters and SANA, two buses collided on the highway between Deir al-Zor and Damascus in Syria on Saturday, July 25, killing 35 people and injuring 30. One of the buses was carrying members of Syria's Interior Ministry, while the other was a civilian passenger bus. The Defense Ministry used helicopters to evacuate the injured and transport the bodies of the dead from Palmyra airport to a military hospital in Homs. Foreign Minister Shibani offered condolences to the victims' families and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
