PlanB said on X that he opposes the Bitcoin BIP-110 fork and argued that supporters do not understand three points: Bitcoin is a decentralized bearer asset, Bitcoin enthusiasts dislike spam more than they do, and why the previous BCH fork failed. According to Odaily, BIP-110 is a temporary soft fork proposal that would add seven consensus restrictions for about one year, including limits on new script public key lengths, some push data and witness item sizes, and the disabling of certain Taproot extension paths to reduce arbitrary non-payment data such as inscriptions and runes.

Miner support for BIP-110 is currently about 1%, below the 55% needed for approval. The final result is expected after the mandatory signaling window opens around August 7 to 8.
