According to the New York Times, U.S. President Donald Trump abruptly changed the plane he was flying on when he left the NATO summit in Turkey this month after U.S. officials concluded credible intelligence showed Iranian proxy forces were targeting him and the Air Force One aircraft he was using. He had arrived in Turkey on a new Boeing 747-8 aircraft donated by Qatar, which was not yet equipped with the same advanced defensive capabilities as the older Air Force One, and the Secret Service advised him to switch planes after the U.S. government received the threat intelligence.
