Lee Jae Myung Seeks Anthropic's Attention For South Korea's AI Sector

According to Yonhap, South Korean President Lee Jae Myung met with Dario Amodei, chief executive officer of U.S. AI company Anthropic PBC, in San Francisco and asked for the company's special attention to South Korea's AI sector. Lee said South Korea plans to sharply increase investment in AI and wants Anthropic's investment and contributions, while Amodei said he expects broad cooperation with South Korea and sees potential for collaboration in areas including data centers. He also said Anthropic and South Korea's science ministry will sign a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in AI security and the cyber industry. Lee was set to meet later in the day with executives from three other global tech companies, including OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang.
