The US House passed the Stop Insider Trading Act in a 232-198 vote and sent the bill to the Senate. According to NS3.AI, the measure would bar members of Congress, their spouses, and dependent children from buying publicly traded stocks.

Representative Bryan Steil said existing stockholders would have to give seven days’ notice before selling shares. Senator Elizabeth Warren said the bill contains major loopholes.
