The Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) wrote to Senate Banking Committee Chair Tim Scott and Senate Banking Committee Ranking Member Elizabeth Warren to support the latest version of the CLARITY Act. According to Foresight News, the FOP said Section 10604 of the revised Blockchain Regulatory Certainty Act (BRCA) addresses its earlier concerns about law enforcement authority and would not limit officers' ability to investigate digital asset-related crimes.
The FOP represents more than 382,000 law enforcement officers. Eleanor Terrett also said the BRCA section in the latest version of the CLARITY Act has not actually been changed, leaving unclear what the FOP meant by the revised language.
