Circle executive Patrick Hansen says EU “equivalence” could let the bloc accept a stablecoin issuer’s home rules instead of forcing a separate licensed EU entity, a change that could bring Tether’s USDT back to Europe. According to BeInCrypto, Hansen said equivalence could be an alternative to the multi-issuance model under MiCA, while Tether has already walked away from Europe after EU stablecoin rules took effect on July 1.
