爱丁堡成为苏格兰首个开征游客税的城市，Friday起对在酒店、民宿和自助式住宿过夜的游客加收5%费用，封顶为5晚。据BBC报道，该税预计到2028/29财年每年可筹集约4500万至5000万英镑，用于住房、文化项目、公共厕所和新增市中心警务力量等支出。
