The Hong Kong Trade Development Council has restructured its operations and global office resources as it marks its 60th anniversary, according to Ming Pao.
Chairman Vincent H.C. Ma said the changes, effective July 1, will center on a “cluster approach” that reallocates functions into six major industry groups to improve operating efficiency and support companies in planning broader promotion strategies. He added that the number of vice presidents has been expanded to six from two.
HKTDC Executive Director Sophia Chong said the adjustment is a “delayering” exercise that flattens the organization from three layers, namely executive director, vice president and assistant director, to two layers, executive director and vice president, while also retitling posts.
