At least 29 overseas virtual asset exchange apps are currently unavailable for download on South Korea's Google Play Store. According to Odaily, the review focused on derivatives platforms because one reason South Korean users use overseas exchanges is to trade futures and other derivatives.

The Financial Intelligence Unit had previously identified 14 of those platforms as unreported virtual asset service providers and referred them to investigative authorities. According to Odaily, another 15 exchanges were also unable to be installed on Google Play in South Korea, even though they were not included on the FIU's list of investigation notices.
