Tencent announced that its Hunyuan multimodal model division and large language model division have been merged to form a foundation model department. According to Odaily, the new department will be managed by Tencent Chief AI Scientist Yao Shunyu to improve model research, development, and coordination and explore the intelligence limits of full-modal models.
