The US military carried out strikes against Iran for a 13th consecutive night on July 24, according to Jiemian News. US Central Command said the more than two-hour operation hit Iran's military command centers, drone storage facilities, communications network, coastal surveillance sites and maritime combat capabilities, with the aim of further reducing threats to civilian crews and commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian media reported explosions in several provinces, including Hormozgan, Khuzestan, Yazd and Central provinces, while Tehran activated air defenses in response to what it called hostile aerial threats. Iranian reports also said air defenses on Qeshm Island, Iran's largest island in the Persian Gulf, shot down an aircraft.
