JPMorgan Moves 30+ Quant Analysts From Mainland China to Singapore and Hong Kong

People familiar with the matter said JPMorgan Chase has relocated more than 30 quantitative analysts from mainland China to Singapore and Hong Kong in recent months to centralize the team in regional hubs and bring it closer to business units, according to 36Kr. Earlier this year, JPMorgan also set up a quantitative trading and research team to accelerate its electronic trading business and respond to competition from non-bank rivals. Market makers including Citadel Securities and Jane Street Group LLC have expanded rapidly in recent years on the back of electronic trading.
