Iran rejected a ceasefire proposal from U.S. President Donald Trump that was delivered to Tehran by Iraq’s prime minister, according to Iranian and Iraqi officials. According to Odaily, the mediation effort did not succeed, while Trump was threatening to escalate the war and considering action against Iran’s key infrastructure.
It was not clear what the ceasefire proposal contained. Iranian officials said it was the only proposal on the table and that the government was unwilling to accept a temporary agreement that did not address control of the Strait of Hormuz.
