South Korea’s Science and Technology Minister Bae Kyung-hoon said he planned to leave for Silicon Valley later Thursday evening local time. According to Jin10, he said the trip focuses on strengthening cooperation and encouraging major tech companies to invest in South Korea.

He said the discussions would center on AI cooperation, market expansion, AI data centers, and semiconductors. Bae also said he planned to use the visit to promote South Korea’s AI ecosystem and called the trip a summit aimed at showcasing the strength of "K-AI" to the world.

Bae departed for San Francisco on Thursday evening and met with people related to major U.S. tech companies, including Broadcom, OpenAI, Anthropic, and Nvidia (NVDA.O).
