Google said in a quarterly filing that its future contract spending commitments reached $811 billion by the end of June, up nearly $500 billion from three months earlier. According to Odaily, the amount is disclosed separately from Google’s capital expenditure budget and reflects purchases committed under supply agreements and outstanding purchase orders.
About $200.7 billion of the commitments are short-term purchases. The commitments cover chips, data centers, electricity, inventory, and content licenses. Alphabet said on Wednesday that it expects to spend about $195 billion to $205 billion in capital expenditures this year.
