Binance Partners With STOP THE TRAFFIK to Disrupt Human Trafficking Financial Flows

Binance Blog published a new article, introducing Binance’s partnership with STOP THE TRAFFIK and outlining efforts to strengthen the fight against human trafficking and modern slavery by targeting the financial flows linked to exploitation. The article says human trafficking generated an estimated $528.5 billion in illicit proceeds in 2025, with those funds moving through financial systems that criminals attempt to exploit, including cryptocurrency. It also notes that more than 49.6 million people are living in situations of modern slavery today, and that the real figure is likely far higher. According to the latest NASDAQ 2026 Global Financial Crime Report, human trafficking generated an estimated $528.5 billion in illicit proceeds in 2025, growing 23.5% between 2023 and 2025. Binance says the partnership makes it the first crypto company to join forces with STOP THE TRAFFIK, a global non-profit focused on preventing human trafficking and modern slavery through intelligence-led action. The collaboration is intended to combine blockchain expertise with anti-trafficking intelligence to monitor and disrupt these flows, while also supporting Binance’s compliance, investigations, and public-private collaboration efforts worldwide.

The article says STOP THE TRAFFIK contributes experience gained through work with financial institutions, technology companies, NGOs, and law enforcement across the public, private, and non-profit sectors. Together, the two organizations aim to improve intelligence sharing, strengthen awareness, and identify emerging typologies tied to exploitation. Binance Chief Compliance Officer Noah Perlman said financial crime prevention must continue to evolve to address real-world harms connected to illicit finance, including human trafficking and related exploitation. He said the partnership will strengthen Binance’s understanding of these threats and improve its ability to contribute to efforts that protect vulnerable communities. Nick Dale, STOP THE TRAFFIK’s Director of Intelligence and Prevention, said traffickers depend on financial systems to launder money and increasingly use cryptocurrency to stay ahead of investigators. He added that the intelligence shared through the partnership can help target traffickers’ finances, disrupt operations, and reduce harm to millions of people globally. The collaboration will also include training and ongoing engagement on emerging risk indicators and typologies. The article adds that Binance’s broader efforts include working with expert organizations, law enforcement, regulators, and industry stakeholders. In 2025, Binance supported law enforcement in the takedown of Kidflix, one of the largest child exploitation platforms, and has assisted authorities on more than 313,000 law enforcement requests worldwide. Funds recovered or frozen with Binance’s support have surpassed $1 billion.
